Sometimes Chocolate Is All You Need

I didn’t think anyone craved chocolate more than me until I met Dan. When we go grocery shopping there is a mandatory stop at the sweets section. I’m the “I need chocolate in the house at all times for when I get a hankering” Dan is the “Chocolate is in the house? ALL  OF IT NEEDS TO BE EATEN.” Oh the times where I come home with that need and search the apartment to find absolutely none left. When I look at Dan this is his response:

Here are eight of our favorite chocolate bars. The list started out at fifteen which seemed a little excessive, so I think we might have to do a part two for this thing. We’re definitely open to trying new chocolates so if you have one you just love leave a comment. Spread the love of chocolaty goodness!

Chocolove peppermint

Chocolove Peppermint in Dark Chocolate 55% Cocoa Content: The best mint chocolate we’ve tried. It’s very smooth in texture with a subtle refreshing mint. The mint isn’t overpowering it’s just yummy.

Chocolove Toffee and almonds

Chocolove Toffee & Almonds in Milk Chocolate 33% Cocoa Content: Probably my favorite comfort chocolate. We tend to get dark but this super creamy milk chocolate is crunchy but still smooth, and littered with delicious toffee and almond bits. Our #1 toffee choice is still Alter Eco Dark Coconut Toffee which I mentioned in the “Little Things I’m Loving” post, but this Chocolove Toffee and Almonds is a close second.

Seattle Chocolates Perfect Peanut Butter Truffle Bar

Seattle Chocolates Perfect Peanut Butter Truffle Bar: When I craved chocolate and peanut butter I used to take a spoon of crunchy peanut butter and cover it in semisweet morsels…yeah let’s just say this bar hits my spoon out of the ballpark. I love biting into this hard chocolate filled with soft peanut butter. Plus (most) Seattle Chocolates are gluten free!

Chocolove coffee crunch

Chocolove Coffee Crunch in Dark Chocolate  55% Cocoa Content: I’ve had other chocolate with coffee bits and what I like about this bar is that it has a substantial crunch to it. The coffee bits are perfectly dispersed to accent but not overpower.

Alter Eco Dark Quinoa nutty toasted quinoa 60% Cocoa Content: Quinoa in chocolate? So weird! But actually really good. It reminds me of rice crispies but crunchier. Definitely not something I imagined would taste good but it’s surprising delicious.

Chocolove orange peel

Chocolove Orange Peel in Dark Chocolate Bar 55% Cocoa Content: I’ve had chocolate covered orange peel and have found it bitter but I really like the orange/chocolate combination. Thankfully, this has a larger ratio of chocolate to orange peel so you get the bright fruity flavor mixed with smooth dark chocolate.

Seattle Chocolate coconut macaroon truffle bar

Seattle Chocolates Coconut Macaroon Truffle Bar: From Almond Joys to macaroons, coconut and chocolate is one of the best combinations. A few of the coconut bars we’ve tried have very small crunchy bits of coconut but this bar is a truffle so it’s filled with rich chocolate and coconut. If you have a coconut bar you love that might beat this one please tell me!

Chocolove ginger

Chocolove Crystallized Ginger in Dark Chocolate Bar 65% Cocoa Content: I was hesitant at first to try this because I feel like ginger can be an overpowering taste even though I love it in regular food. However, like the orange peel bar this one has enough flavor of ginger but not like the spicy ginger chews my Mom used to give me to settle my stomach. Definitely adventurous.
