Sangria reminds me of summer. Not that you can’t drink it at other times during the year, but it seems to be the perfect choice for warm weather, having a few friends over, BBQs. I won’t say no to wine pretty much ever, but in summer if it isn’t a cool white wine I usually pass, no matter how good the idea of wine sounds. Sometimes you gotta take your love for wine and turn it into something else.
With Sangria you have so many options and different flavors, but the goal will always be to combine fresh ingredients with wine for a refreshing pool-side-worthy cocktail. Other than that you can basically do whatever you want, from experimenting with different wines, different fruits, herbs, even other alcohol.
