As much as I love a full face of makeup, I love the days when I choose to be a minimalist. For me going for a natural look is a lot harder than one would assume because there is still a process involved. I tend to have a lot of redness to my skin, especially my cheeks, and while it can work in my favor, it still takes some concealing to cover and correct to make sure I have a solid foundation to build upon. Yes minimal, natural makeup is easy but it’s not a 1, 2 and you’re done. To make it work and look legit you still need to use the right products and prep your skin the correct way.
Entering into spring I was on the hunt for the perfect look to do this month for Recreate The Look. I wanted something simple, dewy and innocent looking. This look came from the Stella McCartney pre-Fall 2015 collection but I feel it fits into this season the best. This entire look is perfected from face to nails. Simple, glowing skin to let everyone know you’re not trying too hard by trying.
Creating the dew and glow to your skin takes a few products. Prep you skin with MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect blending with your fingers or a beauty blender. Next add some light coverage with a BB / CC cream. I prefer to use bareMinerals Complexion Rescue. It gives just enough coverage and has a hydrating quality to it that leaves your skin just a touch of dewiness that you need. Add some mineral veil to the t-zone because the point of this look isn’t to over do it and look like an oil slick. Add a cream blush to the lips and cheeks and finish off the look with an illuminator, such as Soft & Gentle on your cheekbones and bridge of the nose. If you want to create this entire look then add a soft sheer pink polish to your nails.
