Pinterest Picks – Menswear Summertime Style

It’s been a while since I’ve focused on menswear, but because my male following is so much more vocal about style, I figured it was time to give the fellas some love. Though it’s been a few months, this post fits perfectly with my last menswear post because today we have some awesome print inspiration, along with some other choice summertime attire. I hope you guys find some instructive examples in this post, whether it’s how to wear print on print or pairing Vans with preppy stripes.

The pieces that highlight these looks are versatile statement makers. They’re cool, they’re eye-catching, and some of them are even sexy. But as always, the actual looks presented are secondary, the biggest thing for menswear is fit. If your clothes fit you properly then you’re well on your way but if you look sloppy, those quality threads are all for naught. So, readers, while you check out the summertime outfit inspiration I’ve collected for you today, think about what else you want to see for menswear on the blog and let me know. Otherwise, you should expect my obsession with floral prints (even for the homies) to keep going strong.

Miles Teller Flaunt Magazine | Tom and Lorenzo | Menswear Summertime Style

Miles Teller Flaunt Magazine | Tom and Lorenzo – When I saw this photo of Miles Teller for Flaunt magazine I got super excited about menswear, but as Tom and Lorenzo pointed out in their post, the rest of the photoshoot leaves much to be desired. Sadly, this is the only wonderfully summertime feeling photo from the shoot, but from the signature jeans to the printed shirt and moody red Ray Ban lenses, this is perfection.

Justice Joslin Appears in Simons Father’s Day Look Book | DESIGNS FEVER | Menswear Summertime Style

Justice Joslin Appears in Simons Father’s Day Look Book | DESIGNS FEVER – Be sure to check out the look book for other summertime style inspiration, but let’s focus on this evening attire for a moment. Look at that mix of chambray and seersucker, such a simple idea but big impact.

Mr. Scott Eastwood | Mr. Porter | Menswear Summertime Style

Mr. Scott Eastwood | Mr. Porter – Here’s another great summertime look, although much more vacation-esque than Miles Teller’s floral print. The pattern mixing is wonderful and subtle enough for those who aren’t ready for more intense mixing with bolder prints. The blues set it off.

L.B.M. 1911's Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook | Complex | Menswear Summertime Style

L.B.M. 1911’s Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook | Complex – A summertime evening outfit that’s part Italian and part California cool. It’s just so refined yet encapsulates that laid back evening look one tries to achieve in warmer months. Your pants don’t need to match your sport coat, but do make sure it’s all well-tailored.

Sausalito Stripe Tee | Taylor Stitch | Menswear Summertime Style

Sausalito Stripe Tee | Taylor Stitch – I’m a fan of a pair of well worn Vans slip ons, they’re easy for one, and two, they prevent outfits from slipping too far into preppy territory. It’s nice to balance it out. You have the striped shirt and canvas shorts which could look über prepster with a pair of boat shoes, but the Vans say you don’t take yourself too seriously.

Model: Levi Stocke w/ LA Models | Photographers: Thrashonistas – Embrace a good floral. You can’t see it but the model is wearing some tight, classic dark rinse jeans and some black leather boots. That’s really all you need with a busy printed t-shirt. Yes, wearing a floral tee is that easy.
