Nexxus New York Salon Care THERAPPE Replenishing Shampoo
This shampoo smells exactly like Hawaii! I love using this shampoo because it transports me to a mini vacation in the Hawaiian islands. It smells like coconut and something else I can’t put my finger on, but it’s nice and comforting. Dan asked if he could use it because he’s running out of shampoo and I gave him the side-eye (this is a solo Hawaiian vacation).
There’s not a ton of lather, which I like. I never feel like my hair is really clean when there’s a lot of excess product because it takes forever to wash out. This formula cleans but neither strips nor weighs down your hair with extra product. Plus, Hawaii…
Nexxus New York Salon Care HUMECTRESS Replenishing Conditioner
When I use this I immediately miss the smell of the shampoo. But it leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft. Much like other moisturizing conditioners it makes it easy to detangle your hair in the shower.
Nexxus New York Salon Care HUMECTRESS Restoring Masque
The Restoring Masque is so soft. Like insanely buttery. And it leaves my hair feeling just as soft. I like to use this in the shower when I’m shaving my legs. The directions say to apply product to hair from mid-length to ends, comb through, and leave in for 3-5 minutes. That’s just enough time for me. Although it would be worth it to use this masque on off days when you’re not shampooing your hair to bring it back to life. I’m pretty good about protecting my hair from hot tool damage, but I put my hair in a bun a lot (sometimes while it’s still wet, SHH don’t tell!), so I know breakage occurs. It’s also good for when you can’t make it to the salon for a trim and it’s starting to get dull.
Nexxus New York Salon Care HUMECTRESS LUXE Lightweight Conditioning Mist
The product is lightweight and makes my hair feel super soft and helps release tangles. It’s really easy to just spray this in before you blow-dry. This is another product I’d probably use on days I don’t use shampoo, just to keep it from getting too dry. Our apartment is crazy dry so this would give my hair the extra love it needs.
Nexxus New York Salon Care HUMECTRESS Encapsulate™ Serum
This is a cool product. Inside the water-rich rebuilding serum, there are little pearls filled with conditioning oil which break open to release the oil when you pump the product into your hand. Science! I’m so intrigued! The Nexxus New York Salon Care Humectress Encapsulate Serum features a protein based Caviar Complex and nourishing Coconut Oil. These ingredients work to return damaged hair to its previous state.
Like the conditioner mist, it’s also lightweight. It doesn’t feel like it’s weighing down my hair which is nice. I’ve used a few other caviar complex products and they make your hair feel soft but add weight. This gives you the healthy feel without the heaviness. It also doesn’t have a very strong smell. This is great because you can easily reapply to dry hair throughout the day without your senses being overwhelmed.
Nexxus New York Salon Care Comb Mousse Plus Volumizing Foam
I really like the mousse! It’s very foamy and bouncy which is what I expect from a volumizing mousse. I can feel my hair gain volume instantly when I use this product, from the moment I put it in my wet hair to after I dry it. My hair is very fine and a lot of volumizing products weigh it down, this product is lightweight so it doesn’t do that. I 100% recommend this product to those with fine hair. My only suggestion is using it with a wide tooth comb to distribute the mousse more evenly. But you can certainly do it with your fingers (as I did).
Nexxus New York Salon Care Dry Shampoo Refreshing Mist
This product was a little too strong smelling for me, but I’m really sensitive to smells. And it’s not surprising because I haven’t found many dry shampoos that I love the smell of and I don’t know why that is but often the smell just sticks with you all day. I also don’t love using dry shampoo even though I have oily looking second day hair. My hair is dark, and shine seems to show up real quick even if it’s technically still clean.
Here’s my favorite part of this product, there’s no color! Often dry shampoo will leave chalky residue but not this one. So will I replace it when the bottle is empty? I’m not sure. Only because I don’t use dry shampoo very often, but if that changes this is at the top of the list, even with the strong smell. And I noticed that the smell actually dissipated throughout the day. It makes a huge difference that there isn’t any residue with this product and that’s enough to make me keep using it.
Nexxus New York Salon Care Maxximum Finishing Mist PLUS
Easy to use, not too heavy. I’m least judgmental when it comes to finishing sprays. As long as it doesn’t make my hair look like a helmet then we’re cool. It’s very lightweight. Doesn’t have a strong smell. The bottle is pretty. And it keeps my hair from going crazy. I spray this on last to keep my style in place.
