In true Fancy Friday form, I’ve decided to share with you a Seattle brand I’m really excited about and inspired by, BUKI. On Monday I was able to attend the BUKI presentation and hear Seattle-based designer/entrepreneur Joey Rodolfo discuss BUKI’s luxe sportswear collection. BUKI is all about fashion technology. Think sportswear, with the technology that comes with the lifestyle of an active person, so moisture wicking, thermal regulation. Only it’s made to wear anytime, day or night, work or out with friends. This collection is crafted like sportswear but styled for the office or everyday.

Rodolfo says, “Imagine having a wardrobe that can take you from the work-week to the weekend that feels supremely luxurious, provides epic moisture-management, cooling-innovation, and thermal regulation, is machine washable and doesn’t ever need to see a dry-cleaner or an iron. We’ve combined simple architectural lines with complex technical fibers to create versatile contemporary separates that will work as hard as you do.”
Designer Joey Rodolfo has integrated his proprietary Kinoki-3.0TM fibers (Climate Crafted Comfort) into the designs. Climate; as in State-of-the-Art Fiber Technology provides thermal-regulation and cooling. Crafted; which eliminates dry-cleaning and ironing. And Comfort; innovative fabric construction optimized for supreme cooling. During the presentation he took an eye dropper with water and showed us how quickly the water dissipated on the clothing. He also took a few pieces, scrunched them into a ball as if you were shoving them into a bag, and then shook them out to show how easy it is to travel without worrying about pieces getting wrinkled. It was a really fun presentation. And the Kinoki™ Luxe fabric they use is crazy soft.
The BUKI collection is the perfect intersection of fiber innovation and modern sportswear. Architectural silhouettes are aligned with proprietary fabrics to create a sportswear collection that keeps pace with today’s modern lifestyle.
There are a few items from their collection which are not yet available but I’m looking forward to showing you in a few weeks, including the cutest waffle knit style sweater and waffle knit joggers. But I want to introduce you to the brand and show you some of my current faves so you can get an idea of BUKI’s simplistic, tech focused aesthetic. Their collection will feature a lot of black, gray, white, navy with the occasional seasonal color. They also have a menswear collection that is equally unique and innovative so be sure to check that out. The focus really is on practical use without sacrificing style. Every piece utilizes a specific fabric but there’s great attention to detail with fit. The pieces have a lot of flow but are pinned and tucked in a way that is very flattering.
Boss Crew – The Kinoki™ Luxe fabric they used for this shirt is insanely soft. It makes you want to snuggle up. And yet the shirt is really fun and edgy with the pleated crossover hem.
Cocoon Coat – This duster wrap coat is THE coat that all the bloggers and influencers are obsessed with right now. It’s so chic. A gorgeous coat for day and night and perfect for traveling, plus it’s machine washable!
Ex-Boyfriend Shirt – I love the name of this shirt. So cheeky! The style is inspired by the boys but the fit is super flattering. It’s a Kinoki™ Oxford Knit which means it looks like a woven but can be cared for like a knit. No dry-cleaning needed for this button down.
Polo Dress – This dress is such a versatile, classic piece. And super flattering. You may not even be able to guess that it’s made of their ultra soft Kinoki™ Luxe fabrication. It’s as if you’re wearing a cozy blanket but you look really sharp and put together.
Swing Back Shirt – It looks like a regular, cute button down but this shirt has a really cool architectural split back detail. It’s also made of the same Kinoki™ Oxford Knit fabric as the Ex-Boyfriend Shirt which means it’s super easy to care for.
Hometown Hoodie – The hood on this hoodie is amazing. Super dramatic and almost robe-like. So besides being insanely comfy, cozy, it’s machine washable and uses dynamic stretch and recovery so it won’t stretch out like other super soft sweatshirts.
