We got our tree up! But it’s currently still bare, though not because we’re lazy. Actually Dan put the lights up immediately but then realized we had two different colored sets. Doh! So Monday he went to Target to buy more lights but even those weren’t the right ones! As I sat on the floor holding multiple different colored lights, with only the slightest difference in color, I felt insanely discombobulated and frustrated that such tiny differences in color were holding me back from putting on our ornaments. But today (now that the right lights have been acquired) my plan is to put on some Christmas music, throw on a cozy turtleneck, make a fire in our lovely fireplace, and decorate the tree. Ok minus the part about the turtleneck and the fireplace cause I have neither but wasn’t that a nice image?
We realized our tree is so massive that we might have to buy more ornaments. On top of the ones I recently bought and posted on Instagram. There are so many good ones out there. I think the key is finding ones that are either really special, or cute and inexpensive. Every year Dan and I try to add a few ornaments to our collection. I mean really it’s just me saying oh my gosh this is pretty! Or oh my gosh this is cute can we have it! He understands my need for Christmas cheer. The only problem is when the Christmas decorations you’ve had your eye on sell out (cue dramatic ugly crying) but we’re at that sweet spot where things are going on sale. So hop on it!
Furbish Studio Merry Christmas Filthy Animal Needlepoint Pillow – I’ve never really understood holiday themed pillows until this moment. I don’t know about you but I’d 100% welcome this bright and fun holiday pillow into my home.
Free People Mini Disco Ball Ornament – Disco ball ornaments! I love these cute little sparkly balls. Your tree is already a party but this is like adding a little disco fever to your Christmas, and it would also look amazing on one of those white fake trees.
Terrain Miniature Bulb Set, 49 – These are the bulbs we got that I posted about on Instagram. I’ve had my eye on these for a few years now and while they’re super small (1″ diameter) I love the rainbow of colors. LOVE. Anthropologie also has some other color options as well.
Terrain Winter Stars Garland – This garland is making me wish we had a mantle. The iron stars are so pretty and give it a rustic vibe. Imagine this garland in your tree with a bunch of cream-colored ornaments. Beautiful!
Anthropologie Verdure Tree Skirt – This tree skirt is out of this world. I know it’s outrageous but it might be my ultimate tree skirt, just because of how colorful and crazy it is. If your holiday style is this bright, I commend you.
Anthropologie Vined Monogram Ornament – Normally I’m not massively into monogram ornaments (unless you have kids) but these are really beautiful. I kinda want one for myself.
Anthropologie Mythic Plume Ornament – Birds are a big theme for ornaments. Ones like these, with huge lovely feathered tails can make a huge impact in your tree.
Anthropologie Gold Fair Isle Stocking – This stocking is so sweet. I love the cream with the gold fair isle design. And the outer stitching feels very crafty and cute.
LEIF Crescent Moon Ornament – I’ve seen a bunch of stars but was super excited to come across this sparkly crescent moon ornament. If I could, I’d fill my tree with all celestial ornaments like these.
Anthropologie Capiz Star String Lights – Class act string lights. The double star design really makes a big impact. I also like that these look just as good when they’re not lit up.
Anthropologie Velvet Celtic Stocking – There aren’t enough well made, unique, and colorful stockings. This is so gorgeous and I love the Celtic inspired design.
Anthropologie Snowflake String Lights – My former college self wishes her apartment had some pretty snowflake string lights like these. Perfect for year round dorm decor, or unique holiday decorating.
