Disclosure: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.
BITE Beauty recently released a line of lip pencils and I was lucky enough to receive some of their product in my latest Influenster VoxBox. You’ve probably heard me talk about these products on Snapchat or Instagram but I like BITE Beauty’s products so much I decided to give you an up close and personal look of all the products I received here on the blog.
I gave a rundown of Influenster in my post about Make Up For Ever’s Artist Rouge Collection but let me boil it down for you real quick. Influenster is a site where you review products and do surveys to qualify for VoxBoxes. These are boxes filled with new products for you to test and review. Influenster gives you a checklist of things like posting on social media and reviewing the product on Sephora and once you do everything on the checklist you qualify to receive even more free goodies. For example, after the Make Up For Ever VoxBox, I ended up getting like 15 more lipsticks. I don’t know if this is the norm but my excitement for the lipsticks made me a very lucky girl. So if you love reviewing product, definitely check out Influenster. Now onto the review!
The new BITE Beauty lip pencils are wonderful. I received two colors, one in 020 which is a beige nude and 044 a rich mahogany. The collection features over 20 colors which are all lip-color inspired shades. The lip pencils are highly pigmented but creamy and lightweight. They use whipped shea butter so the pencil is nice and soft and easy to apply. They’re also so beautifully pigmented that you can just use the lip pencil as an all over lip color. I love these because they’re so easy and don’t dry out my lips like other pencils tend to do.
These mini lip bullets are so cute! Small and compact with sleek packaging. If you haven’t checked out BITE Beauty’s Amuse Bouche lipsticks, you must! They have a great selection but I especially love the dark hues. Honeycomb, on the left, is a beige nude and Whiskey, on the right, is a rich mahogany with red (my favorite). The lipsticks are creamy, easy to apply, and don’t dry out your lips. If you’ve ever tried Burt’s Bees chapstick, the sweet citrus smell is very similar to that.
Truth be told, I worried that this color would be too light and unflattering, but it’s actually a perfect daytime nude. I’m super pale so I’m sure you can imagine just how light this color really is. The great thing about this shade is that it goes with anything. I enjoy the neutral makeup with a nude lip but you can really play up your eyes with this color. The lip color would do a great job of balancing out the look. I’m imagining a really dark, dramatic smoky eye look with intense lashes and this lipstick. So pretty!
As you can see, this color is INTENSE! I love it. It’s the witchiest, most badass color I’ve ever worn in my life! It’s not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. Some people thought it was black lipstick, which it isn’t. I like to call it “dried blood” which isn’t the most pleasant name but it further instills the badassery of the lipstick. Like I said, I LOVE this lipstick but it’s not exactly a daytime look. Save it for your witching hour escapades.
As you can tell from the swatches, the lighter lip pencil in 020 (swatch on the left) is a little darker and has a slight orange tone in comparison to the Honeycomb lipstick next to it. And the dark lip pencil in 044 (third swatch from the left) is much redder and lighter than the Whiskey lipstick (far right) which has a bit more of a brown tone. They’re all beautiful but I’ve been experimenting with the dark lip liner mixed with the lighter Honeycomb lipstick for a lighter red hue.
