I’ve been sitting on this post, patiently waiting for the glorious holiday called Cinco de Mayo when everyone drops everything to stuff their faces with delicious tacos and down refreshing margaritas. Well, that’s how it plays out in my head anyway. But here I am! Just in time for Cinco de Mayo with a roundup of some amazing margarita recipes. Usually I like my margarita simple. Good tequila, fresh lime juice, triple sec… Honestly if you have good tequila and fresh limes you’re well on your way to a tasty margarita. Add in your favorite liqueur, Cointreau, Patrón Citrónage, Grand Marnier and that’s your basic but delicious margarita.
But say you want something MORE. More flavor! Or just a different flavor! Well then you’ve come to the right place because I bopped around the internet hunting for a variety of yummy margarita recipes. We’ve got one with sparkling wine and one with beer. One with grilled pineapple and one with guava. There’s even a margarita recipe that uses mezcal for a smoky flavor. Oh and a few with blood orange because everyone loves the color of a blood orange cocktail. Consider this a starting point for your margarita recipe adventure. It’s time to get creative this Cinco de Mayo.
I’ll admit, the look of this margarita is what first drew me in. But it’s so unique. Sweet and smoky grilled pineapple, muddled sage, citrus and orange flavors from the Patrón Citrónage and Patrón Silver. So good.
Ooh yes! Pink! I’m all about sipping a hot pink margarita. It’s prickly pear syrup that creates the vibrant color in this drink and adds a lovely sweetness.
This margarita is pretty simple with a nice fizzy touch. You’ve got your sweet pineapple and classic lime flavor with the addition of some tasty Mexican beer.
A little prosecco, a little tequila now that’s a party! It also helps that this is a pitcher margarita recipe so you will be all set for said party.
Here we go with more gorgeous color thanks to some juicy blood oranges. Adding blood orange to a simple margarita is tasty but this recipe goes one step further with homemade ginger simple syrup.
Want to be transported to paradise? Try this guava-orange margarita which uses guava puree, orange juice, tequila, and Grand Marnier. Easy tropical vibes.
I love a good spicy margarita. This one packs a punch. You let the jalapeños infuse the mixture of grapefruit juice, tequila, agave, and Grand Marnier as it sits overnight and boom! Deliciousness.
This margarita is so special. The smokiness in this blood orange and turmeric margarita comes from the mezcal and a bit of salt and cayenne on the rim.
