Even In The Future You Can’t Beat a Little Black Dress

Wedding Reception

Ah, the newlyweds looking sharp for their reception. They both had great tans after coming back from their wedding vacation in Hawaii so it’s no surprise they looked good. Judy was beautiful and happy in her classic strapless dress with the intense corset-back detail and Jonah looked really handsome in his great fitting suit and I really liked the detail in his shirt. The night was a success and everyone was glad they had a chance to celebrate with Jonah and Judy.

I really like this picture. There aren’t many pictures of just Jonah, Dad and I, so I am glad it came out so great.

Aidan latched onto me for a decent part of the night. You can tell when he doesn’t want down because he’ll be lazy about wrapping his legs around you until you try to put him down, then he will finally latch on like a monkey. I got a good arm workout from it. At least he was a good-looking step-in dance partner with his handsome button down, vest, tie and pinstripe pants.

Before I got ready I checked out some hair tutorials and quickly watched this one. I tried it out but didn’t spend as much time on it as I should have, but I was in a hurry! All I knew was that I probably wanted something black and definitely a little sexy. Plus, I have had a slight girl crush on Rooney Mara since The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo and lately she’s been wearing some great little black dresses (check them out here) so she was part of the inspiration for the night. But even with what I consider a classic look, some people were a bit confused. The sequins on the top of the dress led some people to tell me I looked “TRON-like” or from the future. I guess these were compliments?

Here’s more of entertaining Aidan. He went on a wet-willy rampage. Ew! At least he was having fun and cracked us up.

Wedding Reception

I’m wearing Alexia Admor Sequin Top Dress (which I bought at Nordstrom on sale), Nine West shoes and Express opaque tights (I got these so long ago but I know Express carries tights). Dan, the bitch, is wearing a Banana Republic Merino v-neck sweater, Brooks Brothers pants, Hugo Boss shirt (similar) and Cole Haan shoes. Dan and I danced our asses off. My feet were still tired two days later. I’m happy we spent time dancing together, some of my favorite memories with Dan involve ridiculous dance moves like the ones captured above.
