One of the most important items in my makeup bag is MAC Cosmetics Paint Pot in Painterly. The Paint Pot can be used alone or as a primer/base for your eyeshadow and liner. I really can’t live without it. Consider painting – if you’re an artistically inclined person – when you start a painting you usually start with a primer so the paint adheres to the surface. Same thing with the paint pot and your eyeshadow. In the past when I wore eyeshadow the color wouldn’t stay through the day or it would crease, but with the paint pot it stays put. Amazing!
I suggest applying this with a brush rather than your finger, unless you have the cleanest fingers ever. Right now I use a brush that’s a little too big but I suggest the MAC 242 Shader Brush which can be used for shadow, concealer or emollient-based products. I’m a brush fan in general, but if your hands are clean and you prefer having control with your finger then it’s a good way to blend in the product.
I’m writing about this because I ran out of Painterly this morning and need to run to MAC after work. I really do not want to go a day without it. It’s crucial to my beauty regimen. I need it like I need my tweezers or my favorite facewash. Plus, I now have six empty makeup containers which means I get a free lipstick! If you don’t know about the Back to MAC recycling program then listen up – If you have six empty makeup containers you can go to your MAC store or online and return the empty containers to receive a free lipstick of your choice. This freebie is limited to their regular lipstick line and not any special lines like the Viva Glam collection or limited edition lipsticks. I’ve been eyeing Russian Red and MAC Red.
