Dita Von Teese is the queen of consistency. She knows what works for her and lives the Dita Von Teese brand at all times. The thing is, even though she sticks to a certain “look”, her style is never dead, over, or repetitive. I respect her for that. Though I don’t covet her style, I do consider her a style icon and think she looks fabulous 99% of the time (no one, not even Dita, is perfect).
There were too many outfits to choose from and this post is just a tiny sample of the great outfits she has worn. I tried to keep my choices as current as possible. I’ve always found Dita very intriguing but after reading this article on Into The Gloss, I realized she’s much more interesting than I thought. This shouldn’t come as a surprise but she is very disciplined and, interesting to note, self styled. Everything you see on Dita is Dita’s choice, not a highly paid stylist’s. When I say she is disciplined I mean she lives her life and styles herself in a way that forces her to change her habits or kinda “perform” in real life. Wearing high heels, red lipstick, perfectly done hair, it all affects how you move, eat, go about your day because you need to be more aware. When you’re wearing red lipstick the last thing you want is for it to smudge when you eat. She takes all of it into consideration.
You need to read the article, Dita is something else.
She is working it down to every last detail. Here is why I want to buy her beauty book, “My beauty book is going to be totally different from what’s out there. I’m going to tell you that you have to pluck the nipple hairs off your nipples before a date—I’m here to tell you that. [Laughs]” – Dita Von Teese
Here, she is sporting a gorgeous umbrella and matching purse at the Burberry Prorsum Womenswear Spring 2013 Fashion Show. But honestly, the best moment was when she dropped her umbrella and to avoid bending over in front of paparazzi she waited patiently for help from two gentleman.
The outfit she is wearing here is very unique, yet still has that vintage style. It’s vintage in the shapes and modern in the detail and pairing. She was made to wear pencil skirts.
Dita again doing ‘all black’ right at the Jenny Peckham Front Row Fall 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. A lot of people think black is boring but when Dita wears black it just screams glamorous.
“You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches.” – Dita Von Teese
