Mix and Match Styles with Warby Parker

By Thursday, February 14, 2013 1 Permalink

Ever since a friend of mine told me about Warby Parker I made a mental note that this year I am going to purchase a new pair of glasses. I’ve had the same pair for at least five years and I avoid going out in public in them because they’re just not a “cute” pair of glasses. So when Kaki emailed me about the possibility of doing a collaboration to get Warby Parker’s name out there I was all for it. She would write a post and I would put together collages that were in line with my style and choose the glasses and sunglasses. I had assumed that Warby Parker was already a big brand because I’ve seen them all over blogs and heard such great reviews from friends, but they’re still a relatively new, just starting in 2010.

As Kaki and I emailed back and forth I learned a few things about the brand. One, for every pair of glasses sold, someone in need gets a free pair. That’s definitely something I can get behind. Two, they have a home-try on program where you get five glasses of your choice to try on for five days, free. Seeing as they haven’t expanded to Seattle yet, I will be looking into this once I get my new prescription. I’ve already virtually tried on a few pairs and I’m going to have a hard time narrowing my choices down to just five.

Thank you Kaki, I had a lot of fun putting this together and appreciate all the info about Warby Parker. Here’s her guest post:

For a business casual look, the right accessories can give you that sophisticated look that is office appropriate. A business casual look that is perfect for the office is a light colored pencil skirt and a white flowy top. Pair with light colored heels and a large, chunky silver or gold watch. Have a structured cream-colored bag and add a hint of color by wearing a pair of vintage-inspired eyeglasses. Throw your hair up in a classic bun or choose to wear hair sleek and straight. You can also pair this look with a navy blue or hunter green fitted blazer. This look is perfect and classically simple for any business occasion, but throws in a bit of color and pattern with the eyewear, which is subtle but shows off your fashion sense.

For a day trip look, a great easy to put together outfit is matching black thick leggings with a striped shirt. Tuck part of the longer blue and white striped shirt into your black leggings. Add a white scarf and dark hued riding boots that go up to your knee. Have a large dark structured handbag and wear a gold watch with chunky gold bracelets. Wear hair down and wavy and for sunglasses choose a pair of Warby Parker classic frames. This look is easy and effortless, perfect for the every day adventure.

These are two different styles but the pieces for these looks can be mixed and matched to create stylish looks for many other occasions.
