Two hour season finale of Pretty Little Liars next week! Two whole hours. I might have to write a two-part recap because SO MUCH is going to happen. Thoughts on who Red Coat could be? I’m too confused by all the theories out there. Some people say Jenna, or Cece, or Paige, or Alison herself. I don’t believe it’s Paige but with this show, you never know. We might not even find out who Red Coat is anyway! Tricky, tricky. Let me know what your theory is, I’m super curious as to what other people have put together.

Is this real? The girls go to visit Spencer and she’s all, “They don’t make a loofah that scrapes out the inside of your head.” Morbid much? The girls try to explain to Spencer that the dead body wasn’t Toby, it was a camper, but Spencer doesn’t believe it. Hanna wants Spencer to cut the bullshit, she’s not crazy, but Spencer thinks she is, and she definitely doesn’t think she’s safe where ‘A has access to her.

Aria is uncomfortable with being out in public with Ezra. The principal is gonna find out! ‘A is gonna blackmail! The town will suddenly turn against them and spill their secret! The possibilities for secrets getting out in Rosewood are endless. We find out that Maggie blames Aria for the falling off the bed incident, which means there will definitely be tension in Ezra and Aria’s relationship if there isn’t already. But Ezra is in full-on hopeful mode so he’s unaware of Aria’s unease.
Hmm Wren and Eddie don’t really get along….what’s going on there? The game Eddie gives Spencer is the same game he gave Mona when she was in Radley. Supposedly she was obsessed with it. Could Eddie be on the ‘A team? It looks like there are notes on the board. Clues? Later, Spencer asks Eddie if he was the one behind the problems with the card keys and he says no, but tells Spencer to trust her instinct. He hasn’t trusted Wren since Wren started working there. Ah man! I like Wren! But then, I also like Eddie. Who to trust?
Ella, Aria’s Mom, is on the church board and an issue has come up with Jamie. The old church bell was taken down to be restored but the new bell looks like it’s of much lesser value than the previous $8,000 bell. Great. That confirms Hanna’s suspicion. Just when Caleb was getting close to his Dad, he turns out with be a thief. That night Hanna, Caleb, and Jamie go out to dinner and Hanna is having a hard time masking her feelings about what she heard, especially when Jamie gives Hanna a necklace. Jamie gets a call from Pastor Ted who fires him for the bell incident. He explains to Caleb and Hanna that there must have been a mistake at the forgery but Hanna does not believe it for a second.

The board game does have clues! It tells Spencer how to escape Radley. Why would she need to escape? Her mother comes to visit and Spencer freaks out on her. Jesus Spencer, get it together. Her Mom wants to know what happened between Spencer and Toby and starts to tell a story about a time when Alison snuck back into their house during a sleepover and looked like she’d gotten beat up. Alison didn’t tell her any details but Spencer’s Mom is as suspicious as her daughter. She figures out that Toby isn’t as good as they hoped but doesn’t think Toby killed Alison.
To convince Spencer that Toby wasn’t the body that was found, the girls take a trip to the morgue. What a great idea! Go into the morgue and start looking at bodies to find John Doe. What could go wrong? I’m convinced it’s Jason…or ‘A heard about the morgue plans and had Toby “play dead” because at this point I won’t put anything past the ‘A team. While waiting for the girls to take the picture, Aria sees Red Coat get out of the elevator but then get right back in it, making sure Aria doesn’t see her face. Damn! Hanna and Emily unzip the morgue bag and see a body wearing a mask! Who is it?! Hanna gets a text that someone is coming but they remove the mask annnnd it’s definitely a John Doe. I’ve never seen this guy.
Aria goes to pick up Malcolm from karate class and he’s not there! The instructor tells her that he was picked up by a girl named Aria Montgomery and Aria finds a poster for the circus with the A circled. Aria rushes to the circus to find Malcolm and runs into her Mom who tells Aria that all these new extended family members is probably very confusing for Malcolm. Not what Aria needs to hear right now. After breaking down into tears, Aria finally finds Malcolm who tells her that her friend Alison picked him. Oh reaaaaalllly?
Ummmm is Spencer hallucinating? She leaves her room and follows the board game “map” to a room where she hears humming. Alison is sitting on the ground looking at records. Spencer asks if Toby was the one to give her the bloody lip the night Alison was seen by Spencer’s mom. Alison tells her that girls fight dirtier than boys. Spencer is looking for the star on Mona’s map and she finds what Mona had hidden, a nurse’s hat, her fake Radley id, and Cece Drake’s visitor’s pass…all right before Wren walks in. Why is Wren there? Why was Cece visiting Mona? So many questions!
Aria is so upset about what happened to Malcolm that she thinks it would be best if she and Ezra stop seeing each other. Poor Ezra, he’s just so hopeful and positive about the whole situation. What else can he do though? He has so much on his mind with this new life that Aria is the only constant. He doesn’t want to give her up.
Wren tells Spencer that Cece came to visit Mona because she thought she could help her. Alison pulled something at a frat party that got Cece kicked out of school. Cece and Alison weren’t on the best terms because of that incident so Cece, knowing that Alison tortured Mona, felt she could offer her some guidance. Is this all true? What team is Wren on? Could Cece be red coat trying to ruin the other liars lives just because they were friends with Alison? Evil by association?
Emily’s Mom comes home with awful news. They found another body in the woods, right where Spencer said she found Toby, in a shallow grave. No identification, no way to id the body, and significant trauma all make it impossible for them to know if it’s really Toby. They won’t know for awhile but Emily is rattled. Her former friend could be dead!
After a huge blowout where Caleb confronts his Dad about the bell and essentially ruins their newly formed bond, Hanna gets a text from ‘A. I didn’t even see this coming! ‘A was framing Jamie the whole time! He didn’t steal the bell for profit. Ugh, poor Caleb, thinking his Dad was still a criminal. Jamie was being honest the whole time.
