The Makeup Lady – Spring Must Haves
This week on The Makeup Lady we are going to dive into some Spring ‘Must Have’ products. Anything that allows me to dream of warmer weather, green grass and pretty flowers is a must right now.
Most sites talk about going au natural. I don’t know about you, but my skin isn’t exactly summer ready and still needs to hide behind a little bit of makeup. The same thing goes for my skin and hair. These legs haven’t seen the light of day for months! To me, spring is that time of year to get ready for the months when you wear little to no makeup, you’re perfectly tanned (not Snooki orange) and your skin has a nice glow and polish. While most of the items listed below aren’t exactly makeup, they are definitely needed in your stash. Splurge a little, and fluff up everything that’s been hiding under sweaters, parkas, scarves, socks and boots all winter long.
For The Body:
The fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish is great for scrubbing off the dry winter skin. Follow it up with some Eucerin (my personal favorite) and if you’re feeling really frisky, try the Kate Somerville tanning towelettes. They are easy to use, don’t streak and don’t leave you with an odd color or funny smell. Lastly, remember to apply sunscreen! Even if it’s cloudy/overcast that sun will get through and damage your skin.
For The Nails:
The GOOP aka Gwyneth Paltrow is at it again creating custom colors for butter LONDON. This “Candy Coated” set screams SPRING! Pastels are super trendy right now, and you have seen posts all month on how to wear Pastels. Add some pastels to your nails and spring will be here in no time (or we can at least hope).
For The Face:
I talked about contouring last week and I’m reposting about the LORAC TANtalizer. Follow up with some NARS orgasm blush on your cheeks, and a bit of color from the Viva Glam Nicki and you’re set with the perfect, minimal look. Just because it’s spring, doesn’t mean you can be contoured and slightly bronzed.
For The Hair:
I don’t know about you, but my hair is extra drab in the winter. This new product by Bumble and Bumble (and no The Beard is not having me endorse their products just because the salon sell them) is supposed to be the next best thing since Semi Sumo. I personally haven’t tried this yet but I’m hoping that it ends up on my counter before the week is over (hint hint). This product is supposed to add lift, when you add heat, and give you that full bodied look. After this winter, my hair needs some lift!
