Boho chic, or hippie-ish cover-ups are such a quintessential beach look, especially anything that’s considered “resort wear” and though I have never felt comfortable wearing bright colors or patterns, I am a secret fan of this look. The shapes of the pieces are relaxed but the style still calls for some confidence because this look tends to be eye-catching. Boho chic cover-ups include everything from printed maxi’s and strapless dresses to tunics.

You don’t have to wear a print for your look to be “boho”, it’s more about the style and shape – tunics are covered up on top but still relaxed and casual in their shape, where as maxi dresses show more shoulder they’re made of gauzy, flowy material. Keep your boho-chic look simple. Pair your cover-up with strappy sandals and some bronzer for a nice glow. If your cover-up is an attention-getting print, there is not much more you need for this look. The simpler the piece, the more accessories you can add. Solid color pieces can be worn with accessories like bangles or even some gaudy sandals but unless you’re going somewhere, your beach outfit doesn’t have to be dramatic.
