The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts today! I’m really bad at paying attention to when stores are having sales, like I need an app on my phone that yells “shop now!” Thankfully, I follow a lot of my favorite stores on Twitter, and especially Tumblr and Instagram, so I was very much aware of the Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. Thank god for social media. The sale is from July 19th – August 5th.
This is when I stock up on essentials: bras, underwear, jeans. But, this is also the time to pick up any trend for next season that you might otherwise shy away from, or avoid because of price. If the price is right, go for it. Leather and purple are two trends for Fall 2013 that I’m excited about. What I’m not excited about is the overall selection of pieces. I’m not a Nordstrom cardholder so maybe the pre-sale experience was much better, but I am a little disappointed with this sale. There are still a lot of very nice pieces to choose from and most of my essentials are on sale, but I guess I had higher hopes. With all the build up surrounding the sale I expected to be impressed, like wanting to buy a whole new wardrobe. I just wanted more selection, more wow-factor. But hey, at minimum I’m going to take this opportunity to stock my bra and panty drawer, and you should too.
