Pinterest Picks will return next week, because this week I had to write about this look from the Jason Wu Spring 2014 show. Ever since I saw it on Into the Gloss I’ve been obsessing. Seeing the makeup that designers use in their shows is always fascinating to me. Sometimes it’s over the top and I can appreciate the look they’re going for but would never wear it. And other times there are one or two looks that stick with me, like this rose gold glitter eye at the Jason Wu Spring 2014 show. I love gold so of course I’d love rose gold, and besides it just looks so pretty!
The article on Into the Gloss describes the Lancôme products used for this rose gold look except for the key product: rose gold glitter. So I went on a search for rose gold glitter, which for some reason is much more difficult to find than I thought, but I came across a blog that used rose gold glitter for a summer makeup look. She used OCC Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Glitter in Beige which is actually a beautiful rose gold color. Perfect.
For the Jason Wu Spring look, you’re essentially doing a very defined brown smokey eye with rose gold glitter, and a dewy but bare face with just a hint of color on the lips. The idea is to look fresh with just a little face makeup but make the eyes mysterious and eye catching with smokey brown shadow and rose gold on top. Here’s some advice when applying glitter: It goes EVERYWHERE and if you get it in your eye it feels like someone is stabbing you, so be careful and pat/press the glitter onto the eyelid, don’t swipe.
