Leather Jackets are one of those classic wardrobe must-haves; it’s up there with the little black dress, riding boots, and the trench. A leather jacket is a coveted piece for many women, even me. I haven’t taken the plunge yet because I haven’t found a jacket that felt like “the one.” Maybe my hopes are too high but if I’m going to buy a leather jacket I want to wear it years from now and think, “I am so glad I bought this jacket.” That’s the great thing about leather jackets, they’re not only timeless, they’ll last as long as you want them to.

It’s also a versatile piece that can toughen up any look. One of my favorite combinations is the leather jacket with a dress because I’ve never been very comfortable in overly feminine outfits and the jacket brings me back to my comfort zone. It’s almost like armor. Not only does it look tough, it’s a durable piece that if cared for properly can be worn for years and years, which means special cleaning and conditioning about once a year (depending on how often you wear it).

1. J Brand Karle Leather Biker Jacket

2. Theory Dalayan Leather Biker Jacket

3. Helmut Lang Leather and Jacquard Jacket

4. AllSaints Walker Leather Biker Jacket

5. Madewell Perfect Leather Motorcycle Jacket

6. AllSaints Belvedere Leather Jacket

7. Zara Faux Leather Biker Jacket

8. Mural Faux Leather Moto Jacket

9. H&M Biker Jacket

Even though it’s the most expensive, my favorite is the J Brand Karle Leather Biker Jacket. I love that the leather is supple and that the zipper and waist strap details are understated. On the less expensive side AllSaints is known for their leather jackets and I’ve kept them in the back of my mind for when I decide to really start looking to purchase. And even though I’m a leather fan, I can’t complain about Zara’s faux leather jacket which had me fooled when I was searching for leather jackets and didn’t read the product name. With the leather trend still going strong and options from almost every brand at every price range, this would be the perfect time to find “the one” leather jacket of your dreams.
