I’m in desperate need of a haircut. Usually I don’t bring a photo to the salon but I knew once I saw the picture of Amanda Seyfreid’s beautiful layers that I’d have to show it to my hair stylist Suzy. Amanda Seyfried has such pretty hair that is totally what I’m looking for; smooth, healthy locks with a bit of sexpot volume and girly, retro curl. Over the summer I was obsessed with sexy, messy hair but for winter I just want healthy hair. Winter reminds me of static and flyaways so no wonder these clean looks have me dreaming.
How can you get sleek, gorgeous hair like these ladies? Well, some people like doing a hair mask once a week to keep their hair healthy. I’m not that disciplined but I like the idea. What I do use is a heat protectant to help with flyaways and prevent further damage from styling tools. For oomph, spray volumizing spray all over your hair, focusing on the roots, then blow dry with a round brush. To get that little bit of wave check out this video for how to use a velcro roller and use a few rollers to get that needed volume and curl.Β Instead of rollers you could use a large barrel curling iron to get loose curls, which is especially easy for shorter hair. Use a little hairspray to set the curl and finish with shine spray, which is great for getting that sleek look, or finishing cream which gives you a more subtle shine.
