The Makeup Lady

Last week Julia and I showed you how to work those Holiday Sweaters, with coordinating outfits and beauty looks. This week it’s all about Office Christmas Party Beauty Looks. If you’re not familiar with Julia’s looks for this week, then hop on over and check out what she put together.

Now that you’re up to speed, it’s time to dive into beauty looks. Your look is going to be an extension of your outfit. If you’re one to be super casual at work and wear minimal makeup, this is our time to amp it up a bit. As Julia pointed out, casual work environments give you a lot more freedom when dressing up for your Christmas Party. The same goes with your makeup. If you’re dressing up and keeping it corporate, remember to keep your makeup dressy without being overdone. You don’t want to be that person that come Monday everyone talks about how you looked like a drag queen. Just sayin…

These looks are similar to what I picked out last week, just up a notch. More sparkle, more lips, and more glow for your skin.

For that French Connection Rochelle Ribbon Dress, let’s go with a red lip look. This is your basic red lip, thick winged eye liner look. It’s the classic go-to dressed up beauty look and everyone can pull it off. Here’s what you’ll need:

EYES

– Sephora Collection Waterproof Liquid Liner

– Diorshow Iconic Mascara in Black

– Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Sugar Frost

– Stila Eye Shadow Trio in Warm

Work the eye colour stick all over the eye, lashline to brow. Next, apply the Stila Shadow Trio on the eyes. Matte Cream all over the eyes, Sorbet on the lid and Truffle blended from the crease down. Finish off with your winged out cat liner using Sephora’s Waterproof Liquid Liner and multiple coats of Diorshow Iconic Mascara on your lashes.

CHEEKS

– NARS Lovejoy Blush

– Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick

For the cheeks, apply NARS Lovejoy on the apples of your cheek blending back lightly to the temples. Apply the Bobbi Brown bronzer under your blush, to sculpt your cheekbones and add a little bit of shimmer and dimension.

LIPS

– NARS Lipstick in Jungle Red

– NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Pop Life

Finish this look off with a matte red lip. Line with the NARS lip pencil, making sure to fill in your lips as well for a long lasting finish. Lastly, apply the NARS Lipstick in Jungle Red (with a lip brush for easier application) all over for the final touch.

If you work in a more casual environment, like myself, and you’re opting for color to make a statement, like the J.Crew Tailored Sweatpant in Velvet, you’ll want to go with a neutral sparkle and a dewy lip and cheek. You’re already throwing down some major texture and color with your pants, and a red lip may be too much with this look. But you still may want to scream “I actually put on makeup today!” so here’s what you’ll need:

EYES

– Benefit Brow Zings Kit

– Stila Shadow in Chinois

– MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork

– Obsessive Compulsive Products Glitter in Beige

This look is about the intense glitter eyes. Start with a light layer of the paint pot all over the eye lid (no brow bone). Next, pack on the glitter, in layers, until you achieve your desired look. The mixture of the paint pot and the glitter should give you a pay off color of a mulchy brown. Blend some of the matte cream shadow on the brow bone and into the crease so there are no defined lines and stop points of color. Lastly, finish up with brows. Try out a more defined look with the Benefit brow kit. Fill them in or give them a different shape for fun. Mascara on this one is up to you. On the first look I went with tons of mascara. This look is all about the glitter, so add a light coat of your favorite mascara but don’t over-do it.

CHEEKS

– Benefit High Beam

– Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Rose

From the picture above we are going for a rosy cheek look. I’m currently into the Bobbi Brown pot rouges because of their versatility. They are creamy, without being too sticky, so they are easy to blend on the cheeks. Add a bit of color and blend away. Don’t forget to add the Benefit highlighter for an extra glow on the skin.

LIPS

– Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Rose

– Bobbi Brown Rich Color Gloss in Pink Sorbet

I already mentioned that the pot rouge is versatile and here’s why… you can add it to your lips! Add some of the rose color to your lips before applying the gloss for an extra kick of color.

Two easy and great looks to try out at your Christmas Office Party. Now I’m off to decide which look I’m trying out for my office party this Friday!
