Metallics are back! The past few years have ushered in mixed metals accessories, metallic themed fashion, and now….makeup! Metallic eyes! We’re not talking the 1980’s baby blue shimmer shadows here. We’re talking true metallic colors. Silver. Bronze. Gold. Don’t get metallics confused with shimmers and glitters. Sure they are similar but you want to create that “wet” smooth metal look with your eye colors. There are two simple ways to create this look, depending on the color you want to experiment with. Keep it natural on the lid or vamp it up as a smoky eye. Here are two great looks to recreate!
This first look is simple. It’s as simple as a sweep across the lid. I prefer creamy shadows for this look because you can use your finger. And who doesn’t have time for that?!
This next look is still simple but requires the use of a second metallic color to amp up the eye look. Again, use your finger for the lid color if you choose (because you can) and buff the darker metallic shade into the crease and outer corner.
Feel free to do a simple silver eye lid look, or turn your bronze eye into an everyday smoky eye. The possibilities are endless. Get creative and try mixing your metals for a super bold and daring look.
