If the above doesn’t explain what sass & bide is about then let me give you some background on the Australian fashion label. sass & bide started out selling jeans but became known for their unique pieces feature embellishments of sequins, beads, metal, and the like. Imagine your most accomplished arts and crafts project come to life on a piece of clothing and there you have sass & bide. The fact that their clothing is unusual is exactly what caught my eye, and then the shape of their pieces is what has kept me interested. The clothes are sexy and often form fitting, and many of the pieces in this most recent collection really showcase strong shoulders, something that I have a difficult time finding for my wardrobe.
Their label does feel very Aussie with its quirkiness and shapes that showcase a fit body. I’ve never been to Australia but I have this vision of energetic Aussies, who all know how to surf and spend every waking hour out in the sunshine moving around. That active lifestyle is reflected in colorful, embellished, or vintage styles of Aussie labels, especially sass & bide. Those things seem to go hand and hand. Plus, there’s a very hairy man in that picture above, not wearing a shirt and wearing very very tight pants that are definitely comical. It’s weird! It’s quirky! And I like it. Just like I like all the black and white choices I’ve picked below. Polka dots, sheer, embellishments, and sexy silhouettes.
