I went out for high tea this weekend with a few friends I haven’t seen in a long time, and on the table were a few dated ice breaker cards. One asked, “what fashion trend would you like to see more of?” It’s the only ice breaker we tried before putting them back on the floral tablecloth, and one girl at the table answered with, “I would like to see more people wearing dresses.” I agreed, I wish more people would wear dresses too. And that the sun would shine so I didn’t have to wear darks 24/7. But yeah what is more feminine and springy-summery than a dress?
I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I’ve been on a Free People kick of late and until my closet has a fair amount of floaty, romantic Free People dresses in it I probably won’t stop. The problem is that a lot of the dresses from Free People that I’m drawn to are the ones that are in the $300 – $500 range, which is so frustrating. Thankfully, they have quite a few dresses below $150 which is where I’m comfortable. They also have a ton of white dresses and recently I’ve been liking white. So clean and bright and fresh. Like the ever so popular LBD, everyone needs at least one LWD – a little white dress. The perfect dress for spring and summer that will never go out of style no matter the design. Like the LBD, your little white dress is a blank canvas. Pair your LWD with flats, boots, booties, or sandals with a jean jacket, leather jacket, or long cardigan; plus whatever accessories you’re into and you have a piece you’ll wear all spring and summer.
