I’m in need of a really nice pamper-day, where I can paint my toenails, get a haircut, get my brows waxed, sleep for daaaays, etc. etc. But that’s not enough. What I am really want is a primp day with some girlfriends. You know, braid each other’s hair, paint your nails, make floral crowns, wear your girliest, flowiest dresses ever, and maybe watch some “bad” TV like True Blood. True Blood is coming back and thank god because Mad Men just ended and Game of Thrones has two episodes left this season. What is a girl supposed to watch to stay entertained? Thankfully the most ridiculous campy vampire, werewolf, faerie show is coming back. Ok honestly the whole faerie story line in this show is kinda lame (balls of light!) but that doesn’t mean I don’t like me some faerie style. The True Blood fairies all kinda dress like insane hippies, but taken to a lesser degree, flower power, loose fitting lace and floral pieces are easy to love. Even though I don’t really have a place to wear this stuff that doesn’t mean there isn’t a part of me that just wants to run barefoot through beautiful garden in some comfy fae-wear.
So what Faerie style do I imagine myself wearing in these garden roaming fantasies? Flowy dresses, light or embellished sandals, and a crown…of any kind really…just something to put in my hair to make me feel like a goddess. This all sounds so cheesy but I am not kidding, feeling like a goddess is the whole point! I will walk around my house wearing a gosh darn crown if I feel like it. So why shouldn’t you? I was inspired by Pretty Little Liar’s Lucy Hale’s birthday flower crown, and I had no idea that Etsy was filled with so many different kinds of crowns, but honestly, I’d rather DIY a flower crown so I included a DIY post in here for you. Other than flowery headgear, pretty things are pretty, so wear them, and definitely go for some pretty glittery nail polish, highlighter and blush. Make yourself glow like those silly balls of light in True Blood.
