While everyone else is navigating tropical worlds of pineapple and Hawaiian prints I’m over here drooling over garden party attire. I know, I’m sorry, there are some insanely cute tropical prints out there but I can’t help it! I love the classic, romantic, Victorian prints. Maybe I’m afraid they’ll go away if I don’t indulge in them right now. That always happens with trends I love and honestly after viewing ASOS’s pre-fall line-up I’m not welcoming the end of summer with open arms. More like with a locked fortress and a moat. Take me back to spring! It went so fast I didn’t even have time to get sick of pastels.
This summer the only prints I’ve worn are on whatever holiday themed boxers I take out of Dan’s drawer to throw on while self sauna-ing in my apartment. It is the middle of July and I’m wearing jack-o-lanterns and Christmas trees. So what do I want? Florals. Still. Yes. Gimme those romantic roses. You all can enjoy your tropical vacations to Hawaii, Bermuda, Bali. I won’t be jealous of your lazy days spent next to turquoise waters, sipping salt rimmed margaritas, taking a dip in the mosaic tiled pool before heading to your cabana to read some John Green YA fiction. I’m craving a party of the garden variety. Or a wedding. I mean it is wedding season, right? Well, floral prints are perfect for wedding guest dresses. And if you don’t have a wedding to go to, who cares? Find somewhere to wear them. Do it. Flaunt your florals before fall comes and kills all the flowers! …hmm…that got a little dramatic there didn’t it?
