After I wrote the Nordstrom Pre Anniversary Sale post I realized that I hadn’t included any picks for the guys. This is a huge oversight because Style and Cheek actually has a few male readers, and I have male friends who ask me for style advice on a fairly regular basis so how could I forget them? Plus, I feel like female readers are always looking for gifts for their guy. I think it might be time to reassess the frequency of male-style themed posts because I really do enjoy male style. Let me know if you guys agree and would like to see more posts on men’s style.
So where to start for Men’s portion of the Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale? The same place you start for the women! Find out what brands are included in the sale and see what normally out of reach pieces are now justifiable purchases. This year for dudes at Nordstrom that means a whole lot of high quality classic pieces from Hugo Boss and fun British prepster-wear from Ted Baker. Here is a run down of a few of the standouts menswear pieces from this year Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (which ends August 4th).
Ted Baker London Classic Fit Print Dress Shirt – I’m jealous of menswear for many reasons but one of the biggest is the variety of designs on button downs. Ladies have nowhere near the amount of variety and this shirt with the little starbursts is so cool yet classy.
Ted Baker London ‘Judd’ Trim Fit Navy Wool Blazer – Supposedly every guy needs a blazer or “sportcoat” in his closet, I wouldn’t know since I live in Seattle (haa! who wears blazers here?). But there is something undeniably flattering (for guys and girls) about a well fitted, quality blazer.
BOSS HUGO BOSS Woven Silk Tie – This color palette is Dan’s favorite but the key here is the pattern/texture combo. An under-appreciated aspect of menswear is use of visible stitching to create texture.
Hudson Jeans ‘Byron’ Straight Leg Jeans in Jetstream – We discuss Hudson jeans on Style and Cheek a lot but let’s just say we swear by them, they’re lightweight but still sturdy, and right now they’re on sale so stock up.
BOSS HUGO BOSS ‘Cereto’ Belt – Every guy needs a brown belt and a black belt. If yours is looking a little worn, how about picking up a new high quality one that happens to have a really sleek buckle.
Cole Haan ‘Colton Winter’ Wingtip – Wingtips are understandably very popular at the moment and it’s honestly really hard to tell most brands apart, but I went with Cole Haan here because they’re famous for their comfort.
