In the past few years candy colored hair has shown up on models, bloggers, and celebrities. I’ve even spotted a few pink and purple locked strangers walking around Seattle. I won’t say this trend is going to be everywhere anytime soon but there are enough people sporting this playful look that it’s worth talking about. The current queen of carnival colored hair? Nicole Richie, who is rocking lavender on her totally awkward and hilarious show Candidly Nicole on VH1. Nicole’s locks are so fun I’m seriously envious.
One of the most frustrating things I found while putting together this post, was that most of the cotton-candy colored hair pics I found were “fake”! Now duh pink hair is always going to be fake but what I mean is that the girls in these photos didn’t even have colored hair, the pics were photoshopped. I get the allure of adding in some magenta streaks on the computer vs. in real life, but it’s a little disappointing when you find a quality picture that you loooove and you discover that the styling isn’t real. But that’s why I find the girls who are actually willing to dye their hair so fascinating, because it really does take guts. Who doesn’t love some good mermaid hair?! Whether it’s a full head of dyed hair or a few colored strands.

Norgaard Rocks the Pink Trend for Stine Goya | I Love Wild Fox – I love that this texture looks like cotton candy. Often we see silky colored locks but this frizzed out look is refreshing.
