I have a confession, 1960s Mod and I have never gotten along. I’ve never been a fan of the bold graphic prints and bright colors of mod style so if you were hoping for that this week then I apologize. These outfits embody two versions of 60s mod that I can get behind though; one with attitude and one with romance, but both include killer booties and short hemlines. A pair of cat-eye sunglasses and a cute vintage hate also help to create that mod look. Both of these outfits could use a pair of tights. They didn’t make it on the collages but don’t forget those lovely opaque tights really streamline the look.

When you look at pics from the mod era there’s a pretty good chance you’ll see somebody in structured off-white mini dress in that quintessential 60s cut. And why not? Simple dresses with clean lines like the one I have here give you so much freedom to experiment with the complimentary pieces. For this look I channeled my inner mod-queen, ready for any catty encounter with intense cat-eye sunglasses, and animal ears cap. Sexy, lace up booties, perfect for stomping on hearts, pearl earrings with studs, and a talon pronged vengeance ring give this outfit attitude for days. It would be perfect for a villain if it wasn’t so cute.

I love the idea of a short swingy dress in a gorgeous color sassed up with badass booties. It is a sexy combo perfect for a romantic autumn stroll. This outfit is a mix of different pieces you’d find in outfits from the early 60s, late 60s and today. The gold sunglasses are a blend of the vintage round sunnies and the signature mod cat-eye shape. The hat and coat have that vintage look you’ll find in the early season of Mad Men or any Audrey Hepburn movie. But it’s the black pieces that tie everything together – what is more timeless than black booties and a matching satchel?
