The Makeup Lady

We are rounding out our last half of the year with one of our final Recreate The Looks. This month we are recreating the Michael Kors RTW Fall 2014 look aka The Blake Lively. Laid back glam tends to be the theme for all of Michael Kors’ runway shows and the beauty looks that are created backstage. I named this The Blake Lively because she is the epitome of laid-back glam. Even while pregnant, she looks effortlessly put together and styled. Nothing is overdone and everything is fresh and natural. This look would be perfect for Holiday gatherings when meeting your lover’s family or for an everyday office look. There are no limits to how and when you can use this recreated look and should be kept in your arsenal of everyday supplies. Just like with all the other looks we have created in the past few months, you likely have a few of these products on hand. And like the Burberry look, Michael Kors has his own set of beauty products designed around this ready-to-wear show.

Your best tool for this look will be your fingers. Just promise me you’ll wash your hands before sticking them all over your face. You can use your fingers for smudging eyeliner, applying bronzer on your cheekbones, lipstick, and even applying foundation. Using your fingers can help with precision but also give that “undone” look that we are going for. No straight, precise lines here. Add a little, or add a lot. Personalize this look to your liking.

Start with your foundation to create a smooth base and apply bronzer to your cheekbones and temples. Apply eyeliner to both the top and bottom lash line and smudge with your handy pointer finger. Finish your eyes with a dab of clear gloss on both eyelids, smudging into your liner for a creamy finish. One or two coats of mascara finish off your eye look. Fill in your brows to help create the glam portion of this look. Every glam lady needs a proper brow. Lastly, the lips will need a light layer to really make them pop. Use your finger again to smudge and blend because you don’t want a precise lined lip look. If you’re into a glossy look, finish with the clear gloss.
