Fancy Friday – Versatile Valentine’s Day Dresses

Last year around this time I shared a Fancy Friday with drool worthy dresses meant to inspire your Valentine’s day ensemble. Today I’ve put together a more attainable set of pretty dresses at a variety of price points. My view on Valentine’s day dresses is that I need to be able to wear it again, either dressed down, styled for a different occasion, or even to a wedding. I just love this time of year when red and pink dresses pop up in shops. None of these dresses are kitschy so you could easily wear them again.

Even if you’re just getting together with your gal pals this February 14, doing something to feel beautiful is really important. Go shopping. Get a mani-pedi. Pamper yourself. Forget about over-indulging over the holidays and spending your fun money this January on things like new Nikes (guilty), because February is the best excuse to dress up.

With all the festivities in December I get into the groove of dressing up, but come January I feel wilted. February with its lovely reds, pinks, and purples, though still in winter, tricks me into thinking that there’s sunshine on the way. Valentine’s day is the last hurrah before what I usually find to be the most boring time of year. No offense March and April, but it’s time for one last party! So get out there, buy yourself some pretty digs, fill your house with flowers, and enjoy the pretty things this February. Treat yo’ self!

That being said, guess who’s wearing black this Vday? Obviously this girl. Before the big day I’ll be sharing what I’m wearing, but next year I need to make a point of buying some red or pink. What are you wearing this Valentine’s Day?

ASOS Lace Fishtail Maxi Dress – I’m usually not a fan of long dresses unless it’s for a very fancy event but this one is deceiving because of the lace overlay. It’s sweet but sexy.
