Pinterest Picks – Fall 2015 RTW Runway Looks Part 1

Feel free to slap me for saying this but I’m finding it incredibly difficult to get into the Fall/Winter 2015 RTW styles right now. Why? Because I am dying for some Vitamin D. Gimme glorious delicious warm sunshine! I want access to gorgeous Spring/Summer collections right this instant. No matter how glamorous or beautiful the Fall/Winter styles are, my mind is on a secluded beach somewhere enjoying salt, sand, and SPF 5000. Sorry Fall/Winter, I’m out.

But on the other hand…come September I’ll be dying for these styles, so try to ignore dreamland Julia – she might be crazy but even she will be excited to pull on a pair of boots, a big comfy sweater, and enjoy the moody colors of Fall/Winter. And this year’s Fall runway shows really emphasized moody colors, including muted shades from Pantone’s color of the year, romantic neutrals, and rich jewel tones.

While I may gravitate towards comfy sweaters, a major trend on the runway was the outerwear you’d wear over said sweaters. Instead of layering or bundling up with 7 or 8 sweaters, the way to keep warm in fall 2015 will be to throw on a big, oversized statement coat even over your most glittery garb. And be on the lookout for a whole lot of ’70s style, flared jeans, floppy hats, prairie styles, and fringe. Even though I’m ready for the beach, I could live with more than a few of the pieces in the collections below.

Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear – Sometimes simple is beautiful. That’s kind of the theme of any DVF collection, and this beautiful white wrap dress on Kendall Jenner is no different. As always DVF did not disappoint with several on-point black and white pieces, along with fun polka dots, pinstripes, lace, and bold colors.

Rebecca Taylor Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear – This collection features a whole lot of visual texture and quite a bit of ’70s earthy toned romantic goodness. This dress is just fun – is it lacey? Is it calling to denim? Is it prairie style? Is it Victorian? Maybe none, maybe all. I just know that I’d wear it.

Hellessy Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear – Talk about knowing how to style your outfits. Hellessy’s super feminine menswear-inspired pieces were a highlight for me. A little old world meets modern but very chic, very interesting, and perfect hair and makeup.

Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear Look 15 Photo: Yannis Vlamos / Indigitalimages.com | Style.com | Fall 2015 RTW Runway Looks

Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear – I’m on board the Rebecca Minkoff train and her collection, just like her bags which I featured a few weeks ago, had a ton of variety. I love that Rebecca’s pieces always have at least one of the two things going for them; they’re fun and/or they’re edgy. This outfit turns out to be both.

J.Crew Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear Look 13 Photo: Courtesy of J.Crew | Style.com | Fall 2015 RTW Runway Looks

J.Crew Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear – J.Crew did what J.Crew always does – understated classiness with a hint of prepster. This collection featured a lot of yellow and pastel pink. J.Crew has been featuring metallic pretty often of late and I am a huge fan of this metallic gold, leopard print, silky army green combo.

Jenny Peckham Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear Look 3 Photo: Umberto Fratini / Indigitalimages.com | Style.com | Fall 2015 RTW Runway Looks

Jenny Peckham Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear – Sheer was till going strong at Jenny Peckham’s show. Paired with heavily encrusted pieces, glittering and swaying down the runway, this collection oozed old school glamour, glitz and sophistication.
