How She’d Wear It with Style and Cheek – Glam Safari

By Tuesday, March 3, 2015 3 Permalink

Is it spring yet? All these sunny days we’ve been having out here are tricking me into thinking it’s warm enough for sandals and short sleeves. Man oh man is that wrong. You know those guys who wear shorts year round? Yeah, they must be insane because it is way too cold for skin exposure. Nevertheless, spring is on the horizon and with that comes spring style. One major trend for SS 2015 is glam safari. We were inspired by Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2015 RTW collection which heavily featured glammed up safari style – silky olive suits, floaty chiffon skirts with structured tops, and bright pops of color against the olive pieces.

While I love a good olive, I’ve brought in other colors that also fit with safari style. My version of glam safari is more soft and romantic than throwing on an olive colored ballgown. I’d prefer a floaty blush pink dress paired with a structured olive jacket. This month I’ll show you how to integrate some safari style into your wardrobe in a way that doesn’t feel forced. We’re going for an easy, comfortable, feminine style, more Out of Africa than Vanity Fair.

Ooh, I love your interpretation of glam safari! Blush pink + olive green is such a lovely combo. I too am ready for sandal weather…though maybe I just want an excuse to buy those Madewell heels…

Thank you, Amelia! I don’t think you need an excuse, those things would get so much mileage in spring and summer…and we’re close enough to spring now, right? :)
