It’s been awhile since I’ve done a menswear post but I was recently wondering, why do girls get to have all the fun with prints? Guys can wear prints too. Time after time we see plaids, stripes, the occasional polka dot but outside of Tommy Bahama we don’t often see men wearing prints. And that’s a darn shame because there are some seriously fun prints out there, especially as the sun starts to shine and people get a little more relaxed with their style. This means BBQs, hanging at the beach, pool parties, music festivals…basically anything where a pineapple shirt would be considered appropriate. Sure, you could throw on just another polo. A t-shirt with a sailboat on it. But that’s boring. I mean it’s convenient and great if you plan on getting dirty (if you’re BBQ-ing there are bound to be stains) but let’s have some fun fellas!
J.Crew Secret Wash Short-Sleeve Shirt in Faded Indigo Floral – This is like Tommy Bahama for young people and I’m not ashamed to say I love it. Do not be afraid of florals, gentlemen.
Topman Tmd Ornate Print Shorts – These shorts are fun and crazy and pink and feature a bold graphic print so we’re go to. Printed shorts are a really easy way to spice things up without making your outfit too busy.
Carhartt WIP Wild Rose Pocket T-Shirt – Yes, this is a rose print and yet it looks so normal. Of all the shirts in this post this is the least “crazy” so if you just want to dip your toe into a little print-wearing, this is the shirt to start with.
Scotch & Soda ‘Aloha’ Extra Trim Fit Short Sleeve Print Woven Shirt – The pineapple trend is still going strong, with no end in sight, so of course it had to find its way into the menswear section. It’s just a fun print!
J.Crew 9″ Club Short in Navy Floral – It’s almost like these shorts are polka dotted but they’re not, they’re decked with tiny little flowers in a super cute pattern. Perfect for a day at the beach or in the park.
