Some of us are still drooling over pineapple prints, but the other hot print of the season is the flamingo. It’s a super playful print that says, “I’m here to have fun!” But let’s be honest, no matter how I describe this trend, your mind is going to go to an image of silly, retro plastic flamingos stuck in a lawn. And if you’re into that kind of playful, kitschy vibe then this is the print for you. I for one am excited by this print because it is so frivolous. This is warm weather weekend wear at its finest.
Kate Spade currently has a monopoly on the flamingo print with everything from iPhone cases, slip on sandals, sheath dresses, and of course – bags. Splendid also has a few adorable flamingo pieces, including the poppy red t-shirt below. Their flamingo prints are a lot smaller, in fact you have to look closely to see the flamingo shape, which is a great way wear the print without going full on flamingo. And speaking of full on flamingo, my favorite from today is the Ace Delivery Flamingo Sweatshirt, that’s the kind of flamingo statement I’d go for! Look at me, I have a flamingo on my chest. It’s the closest I can get to having an actual flamingo as a pet, which I would totally do because flamingos are awesome.
Ace Delivery Flamingo French Terry Sweatshirt – I tried on this sweatshirt at Nordstrom and absolutely loved it! Although, if you have a short torso like me it might be too baggy at the waist, otherwise this is a perfect pullover for summer.
Maison Scotch Bomber Jacket in Flamingo Print – Flamingo prints don’t need to be overtly pink, this lime and mint green bomber jacket is crazy fun.
