Navigating the palm print trend from day to night can feel like a struggle. When you’re downtown and it’s 12AM on a summer Friday night, most of the time when you come across someone wearing a palm print, that person is 45 years old, drunk, male and decked out in the finest Tommy Bahama. Obviously that is not the look we’re going for, but ladies I promise palm prints can seamlessly transition from day to night with fun accessories and a lot of neutrals to really focus the eye on the scene stealing print.
These outfits are definitely meant for weekend vacations with some day tripping before a nighttime excursion. The dress below is perfect for that scenario, and I’ve shown you the ideal day and night accessories to look glamorous shopping in town one day and then indulge at a fancy restaurant that night. The other outfit has more of a city vibe so pack those sneakers for a lot of walking, but remember to pack some sexy pumps so that you’re ready when the day starts cooling off and you need to hit the dance floor.

This dress is so beautiful. It’s not as in your face as an emerald green and white palm print dress but it is more of a punchy laid back dress. It’s like California at dawn. Daytime requires a ton of brown leather, some gold rings, and fun sunnies where as the night look is more pared down with heeled sandals, a bright clutch and polish, and funky earrings. With this look the accessories shift in style from rustic during the day to super feminine at night, but never at the expense of the dress. Prints this pretty should always the be the star of the look.

I wanted to create two outfits that could potentially go with any tropical print, not just the blue palm print shown here. Using black and white is how you can achieve this. This combination would be perfect for a short trip because all the pieces are interchangeable, a must for trying to pack light for a trip. The leather shorts, lace detailed white blouse and tortoise glasses give the day look some visual and actual texture. While the night look is all about sleek with black pants, pumps and a tank top, accented by a gold watch. But let me be honest about what really excites me about this outfit – the sneakers have pineapples on them! Pairing pineapple and tropical prints? Yes, please!
