I plan on wearing this Free People tunic top and bralette all summer long. This outfit is for sure the most comfortable thing I’ve ever worn, because it has the perfect amount of exposure for a hot summer day. Yes, I’m sure there are people out there who will say that an exposed bra isn’t classy, but I’m kinda over this whole “be classy” thing. Being buttoned up in the sweltering heat is overrated and uncomfortable, the bottom line is that this is the most ‘me’ outfit I’ve ever posted on here.
I’ve always said comfort is king, but this shirt also has attitude for days. The biggest, most liberating thing about walking around with my bra and a whole lot of skin exposed is that I feel more confident. I’ve always dressed for my body shape, which I’ve found to be very limiting, but now I’m taking more chances with my wardrobe and trying to step out of the safe zone to finding more pieces that feel like me. While I still have a closet full of boring, I’m figuring out what really fits my personality. Gimme daggers. And no sleeves. And bralettes.
Speaking of bralettes, they are amazing! Actually, they don’t provide much “lift” but they’re still amazing if your shirt doesn’t focus on cleavage. Whether you’re showing a little or a lot of skin I definitely suggest buying a few bralettes. I’ve talked about them multiple times on the blog but they make summer dressing so much easier, especially with the amount of strappy, halter, backless, and exposed-everywhere styles that are out there. It’s nice to throw on a bralette and go.
We took these photos after my Swink Style Bar appointment and I had worn a sweater that day thinking it’d be a sunny but kinda chilly Seattle day, but nah it was actually really warm out, so boy was I excited to change into this. It felt like heaven. While the tunic is very long, or fairly long depending on the size of your rear-end, I have worn this with jeans, leggings, yoga pants and plan to wear it with shorts, and as a cover-up when I go on vacation. It’s a really versatile outfit that I will wear to death this summer.
Successful photo shoots are rewarded with ICE CREAM! But Julia how did you know it was successful? Shhh, gimme the blizzard. What are your thoughts on blizzards? I love them and would take a blizzard over all other dessert. I like to switch it up too, sometimes getting a mint oreo blizzard like the one above, or one of the candy flavors. What’s your favorite flavor? Ooh and does anyone else remember Nerds Blizzards??
