Fancy Friday – Free People Bralettes

Since my outfit post yesterday was very Free People focused and featured one of their awesome bralettes, I figured I should talk a bit more about other Free People bralettes. Free People is really a perfect place to shop during summer because so many of their pieces are floaty, made of breathable materials, and ideal for layering. If you’re one of those people who would never dream of going without a bra (I’d never, ever, not unless the top is like a suit of armor with hella boning) then I suggest looking into bralettes or underthings with less of a bra look and more decorative designs. They’re comfortable, have enough structure that you don’t feel unsupported, and can also really be a sexy focal point to the right look.

I went shopping for a tank top not really thinking about a bra to wear under it, but you know when you go shopping and realize that having the right bra can make or break a look? That’s exactly what happened. There are so many tops that are backless, feature exposed sides, or have some tricky design that makes exposure of any kind more likely. It’s next to impossible to wear a normal bra with these pieces. Plus, bralettes are cooler in the summer heat and you won’t have to constantly readjust the straps. Mindless clothing wearing. It’s the way to go.

Now to be honest, I pretty much thought I couldn’t wear bralettes because I am not blessed with perky tits. So I’ve accepted that a bralette isn’t going look like a pushup bra and that’s ok because the shirts I wear a bralette with don’t require boom boom pow cleavage. So if you’re thinking that you can’t possibly do the bralette thing, you’re wrong, you don’t need Renaissance era cleavage to have pretty décolletage anyway. You just need to choose the right top. So give yourself a break and buy a bralette.

Free People Intimately Wild Roses Gallon Racerback | Free People Bralettes

Free People Intimately Wild Roses Gallon Racerback – Had I not seen the bright purple Galloon Racerback, I would have bought this wild roses version. It’s the same bra but with a pretty two toned design.

Free People Intimately Phoenix Rising Soft Bra | Free People Bralettes

Free People Intimately Phoenix Rising Soft Bra – This was my second favorite after the Galloon Racerback because it was so comfortable. It comes in a few different colors including a purple and red floral, and darker black floral.

Free People Intimately Prism Strappy Bra | Free People Bralettes

Free People Intimately Prism Strappy Bra – When you need the slightest bit of coverage, this is the bra to buy. Free People has a variety of styles similar to this one and I tried one on in teal but I prefer this design and the coral and plum colors.

Free People Intimately Kikis High Neck Halter | Free People Bralettes

Free People Intimately Kikis High Neck Halter – This halter bra is a gorgeous layering piece. It doesn’t offer much support but does feature a lot of coverage in front, and an open back.

FP One Geo Lace Bralette | Free People Bralettes

FP One Geo Lace Bralette – This feels more like a crop top than a bralette because it’s so contained. It’s one of those pieces that wouldn’t look outrageous worn by itself.

Free People Intimately Braided Florette Bra | Free People Bralettes

Free People Intimately Braided Florette Bra – Definitely wouldn’t mind the back of this bra peeking out of a top or dress with that pretty braided detail.

Free People Intimately Sweet Nothing Bandeau | Free People Bralettes

Free People Intimately Sweet Nothing Bandeau – Similar to the Phoenix Rising bra, the lace detail on the side looks really pretty with shirts that show your sides and back. But it’s the removable halter strap that makes this piece special and slightly edgy.
