This month we’re discussing off the shoulder tops, the most subtly sexy trend of the summer. We’re not talking crop tops or sheer paneling here, we’re only showing a little shoulder. Easy enough. It’s an incredibly romantic style that’s perfect for warm summer days and nights, and will take you into fall. Today’s specific look is focused on the off the shoulder peasant top. Two trends that go hand in hand. This style fits right in with the renewed popularity of boho ’70s style but instead of going full on hippie, I’ve given you two very different outfits to recreate. One is pure summer with cutoffs and a cheeky elephant purse, and the other can be worn now but feels more like an early autumn look, especially if you choose to wear knee-high boots and tights instead of booties.

This has to be one of the easiest summer looks. A lovely off the shoulder printed blouse with a keyhole feature paired with very casual denim shorts, rose gold slip on sandals, and the sweetest elephant bag ever. Pairing crazy metallic and green sunglasses with such a romantic and a cheeky elephant purse works because every piece complements the no-nonsense denim shorts. This outfit is equal parts feminine and rugged, the perfect look for an outdoor summer concert.

I know, how can I already be putting together an outfit with fall vibes? But how could I resist that shirt? With its deliciously Romeo and Juliet feel. Sure if you want to keep things summery you could wear this outfit without the vest and some gladiator sandals instead of booties and it would still have the deliciously sexy ’70s badass vibe. But I couldn’t resist giving this look a ton of attitude, blame Rebecca Minkoff. There was no way I was going to pair that amazingly beautiful blouse with something as casual as shorts. So tuck in the shirt, cuff that wrist, ring up, and work this look all the way through summer and fall.
