How much do you spend on workout clothes? Like anything else in the clothing world, there’s a wide range of how much people are willing to spend on their athletic attire. Nike addicts can spend thousands of dollars on shoes alone each year, yoga enthusiasts and ladies who like their booties to look bangin’ will break the bank at Lululemon. But on the other side of that coin you have people who are totally cool with picking up a tried and true sports bra or two at Target and wearing it for years.
Athletic apparel is a huge industry, and as someone who has a couple Champion sports-bras, a beloved Lululemon jacket, and wears Nike shoes, I find the world of athletic clothing intriguing. I still love the pieces I got from Target but have become a loyal fan of Lorna Jane and their insanely flattering leggings. The point is that I have my go-to pieces, but I’m always on the lookout for new brands that fit my style, especially if they can be considered luxury activewear.
Outdoor Voices clothing fits this bill. They’re pricey for sure, but their cool color schemes of oatmeal, powder blue, light gray, and charcoal somehow feel more me than the usual bright pinks and neons that athletic wear brands seem to love. I do not love the brights. I’ll wear an occasional eye searing pink workout top but I pretty much live in black yoga pants and tanks while working out. The charcoal and even the navy collection from Outdoor Voices have me drooling.
Their pieces are made in LA and look insanely comfortable. Plus they’re all pretty simple but cool looking. The unique shape of the high-necked Athena crop, which falls lower on the rib cage than most sports bras, is really flattering and can double as a top. And their hoodies, lightweight and wonderfully soft, are things I could probably live in. I haven’t tried their stuff in real life, but I want to. This the type of laid-back, muted, sleek and even sexy athletic brand I can see myself frequenting for years.
Catch Me If You Can Hoodie in Charcoal – Love charcoal! This hoodie looks so soft with the right kind of fabric, not too thin not too thick. Plus, it has thumb holes.
Outdoor Voices Springs Legging in Slate/Mint/Whiteout – Outdoor Voices has a variety of leggings but their two-tone and tri-tone leggings are really fun. This pair with the mix of green and white are really pretty.
Running Woman Sweats in Heather Gray – Gotta love a good pair of sweats and these are great because they flattering instead of frumpy. They’re fitted in the right places, have pockets, and a hidden interior pocket.
Outdoor Voices Racerback Tank in Charcoal – Often simplicity takes the cake, and this racerback tank is just what you need. Soft and flexible fabric makes it a workout staple.
Athena Crop in Slate – This was the crop/bra I mentioned earlier. It’s just beautiful! I love the long line design and high neck. This style comes in a bunch of colors and offers medium support. Gimme.
Outdoor Voices Cross-Back Bra in Oatmeal – I had to show you this bra because of its really beautiful design. The cross back design offers the right amount of support and is made for movement, despite it’s lean styling.
