What nail color are you most excited to try this coming fall? When I was looking at the polish colors used on the NYFW Fall 2015 runway I noticed a ton of nudes, sci-fi shades in blues, purples, and greens, expected but still beautiful burgundies and autumnal choices, and my favorite for the season metallics. I love a good gold or silver nail in any season but this fall’s color palette is quite complementary to metallics. Silver and gold nails should be considered neutral tones. Just like pairing gold or silver jewelry with your outfit, metallic nails are easy to pair, yet make a much bolder statement. They can be soft and romantic or full on edgy. Instead of reaching for your trusty dark red shade this year, it’s time to get metal.
NYFW Look of the Day: The Lush Lashes, Purple Lips, and Metallic Nails at Nanette Lepore | Glamour – Aside from the in your face and totally bangin’ beauty look of purple lips and spidery lashes, you have those sexy rebel nails. It’s all about layering with this look, a metallic gold and chunky glitter polish to get that texture.
Nails at Naeem Khan FW ‘15 | Beauty Launchpad – Naeem Khan featured nails painted in a gorgeous subdued gold which was achieved by mixing essie polish in shifting power & jiggle hi, jiggle low. One polish a true gold, the other with silvery undertones.
Reem Acra Fall 2015 | Huffington Post – The nails at Reem Acra paired beautifully with all the gilded, embroidered and otherwise encrusted pieces in the collection. The gold is subtle and translucent which was created by layering different shimmering gold polishes.
DIY Delpozo Gold Striped Nails | Honestly WTF – This is awesome because Honestly WTF shows you how to recreate the super minimalist gold striped nails from the Delpozo show. The look takes some time, but is lovely especially with a bunch of gold and midi rings.
Creatures of the Wind Fall 2015 | PopSugar – Now for a little silver, which kinda looks more platinum to me but still, we’re going the cooler route in the nail polish spectrum. You’d think it would be difficult to pair color wise but this silver/platinum color goes with everything and really pops.
Luv Aj’s New Luxe Leather Collection | WHO WHAT WEAR – An oldie but a goodie. I saw this pic on tumblr and immediately loved the styling. I mean black and white and metallic, that’s timeless style right there. The nails are a little on the edgy side and this kind of high shine requires expert application but the end result is stunning.
