If there’s one trend that’s been with us all summer and will continue into fall/winter it’s funky but revealing necklines. From chokers to tie-neck blouses to scarves, the neck has been getting a lot of attention lately, and today we’re talking about a trend I’ve been a fan of for a while, the cutout. Cutouts have been on the rise for a while now but a I’m huge fan of the keyhole cutout in particular because they add some beautiful, even playful details to your décolletage. It takes some guts to pull off these revealing pieces, but keyhole cutouts like this one from Isabel Marant are just so darn sexy.
What I find most interesting about keyhole cutouts is that they’re actually less revealing than most pieces that we wear already. But somehow if you cover up your neck a little more than usual and then expose a bit of skin, you have a very sexy look. These shirts and dresses basically feature built-in daytime or nighttime appropriate chokers, with their soft hyper-feminine fabrics wrapped sensually around your throat. What could be sexier?
