Pre-fall style confuses the heck out of me. It doesn’t help that my wardrobe is built for either a full on heat wave or 35 and pouring, but I have a harder time dressing comfortably during this time of year, where a gray windy day can suddenly dissolve into 70 degree sunshine. What do I know about dressing for this confusing time of year? Dress in layers. You want to be comfortable and put together in a cool drizzle, but still super cute and cozy when you peel off a layer, or two. We’re talking about a button down under your overalls with a coat over it, or a cape over your monochromatic outfit. And you can’t go wrong with a trusty blazer when the weather is feeling moody.
Besides layering up top, a key player in the pre-fall style wardrobe is your shoe choice. Before we’re all shoving our toes into cozy boots, expose those feet. It’s likely that we’ll still have sandal weather for a while, so heels and casual slip on’s are welcome before we hit the rainy days. If there’s one accessory I would suggest for this time it would be either a great watch or chunky bracelet. A small statement piece that fits seamlessly with your outfit.
