Last Friday in my keyhole cutout post I mentioned skinny scarves as a popular accessory for fall/winter 2015. Kate Moss is the queen of the skinny scarf, we saw it in Saint Laurent’s Spring 2015 collection, and it’s a great callback to the rock stars of the 1970s, like the lovely David Bowie. I for one am one hundred and fifty percent game for this trend and hope it sticks around for a long while. It has just the right amount of sass and sex appeal.
The skinny scarf takes the place of a necklace and the effect is carefree but sensual and romantic. It’s not quite a real scarf and draws attention to the neck in same way a choker necklace does. Skinny scarves also pair well with the two hottest fall trends, 70’s and boho, since it can work with either a rock ‘n roll or flower princess vibe. Need convincing? Just check out Zara. Their entire site has skinny scarves interspersed in their fall collection and I’ve included two of their best skinny scarves below.
Zara Tie Style Scarf – This is by far my favorite of all the skinny scarves I’ve seen. It’s so versatile and sensual. It’s a great piece to add a little spice to your outfit.
Zara Velvet Tie Scarf – Similar to the simple black scarf seen above, but shorter and in a velvet fabric. This looks great with dresses and boho styles but can also be worn with a collared blouse to give it a bow effect.
Rebel Rebel Printed Skinny Scarf – Gotta love a good Americana piece. This blue and white star scarf is super funky and fun. It will immediately make your outfit more interesting.
Rockins Printed Silk Scarf – Perfectly rock-n-roll from the black and white to the oddball print. It has a great British It girl feel that’s both sleek and go with the flow.
Jayley Coco Silk Skinny Scarf – The juxtaposition of the printed skinny scarf with the simple black and white outfit instantly gives this outfit personality. The same scarf could easily be worn with other printed pieces and not feel out of place.
Jayley Coco Silk Skinny Scarf in Navy – This printed silk scarf has a great boho rocker chick feel to it. Sorta Stevie Nicks in Fleetwood Mac before she went on to be the gypsy queen.
