We’re going for a seasonally appropriate trend this month, and that’s chunky knits. We all know and love a good chunky knit, especially when the temperature drops and we start romanticizing the chunky sweater and thick socks combo accompanied by a mug of cocoa and a roaring fire. Snuggle fest, here we come! But to experience this very lovely scenario, you need at least one good sweater that has to be just as cute as it is warm. My closet has a lot of cute but not very warm options, so (hint, hint) this isn’t just a trend I admire but one that I need to add to my wardrobe, and you likely should as well. We’re going to cover quite a few styles this month, not all will be overly chunky but hopefully you’ll feel inspired to add a knit or two to your wardrobe.
1. Free People Twisted Cable Turtleneck
2. J.Crew Cambridge Cable Turtleneck Sweater
4. Topshop Tweed Oversize Rib Roll Jumper
5. J.Crew Sequin Fair Isle Sweater
6. French Connection Twinkle Fair Isle Knit
7. ASOS Christmas Jumper In Pattern with Embellishment
8. BB Dakota Adana Drop Shoulder Cardigan
9. Zara Coat with Large Lapels
Here are three types of chunky knits to try this season; turtlenecks, fair isle, and long cardigans. The turtleneck has made a major comeback this year and is the ultimate cozy/daytime appropriate chunky knit. Fair isle had to be on this list because of its holiday appropriate design. And the sweater styles themselves are quite cute on their own but with a fair isle pattern they’re automatically fun, even that moody gray and black French Connection sweater which would look great with coated or leather pants and heels. Then we have my favorite for layering and for a sassy boho look, the long cardigan. It’s super convenient to throw on around the house, for quick grocery store runs, and especially over your long holiday dresses and skirts.
