This outfit post as been in the works for weeks and wasn’t even supposed to be a New Year’s Eve outfit but guess who has been sleeping 18 hours a day with some sort of death? Yep, I got sick before Christmas and then got sick again right after so let’s just say I had to hustle to get this post out the door before ’16! This sweater and black jeans combo is actually kind of a go-to outfit for me for dinner, or events like the blogger brunch I went to a few week’s back. The shoes and accessories are new and spice things up for any casual NYE. Black and white for New Year’s Eve baby! All I need is an amazing star headband and I’m ready for champagne and that big ‘ole ball drop. We made it, guys!
But for real, If you’re having a casual celebration with friends or going out to dinner tonight, consider wearing something like this – a nice white blouse or sweater, maybe with a little embellishment, black jeans, and your cutest flats. Don’t forget a hell of a lot of rings, for bling power, and you’ve got yourself a stylish but comfortable low key NYE outfit and one to consider for future date nights in 2016.
Collaborating with Moorea Seal this year has been the best thing for my wardrobe and jewelry box. I’ve been hesitant when buying myself accessories in the past, but no longer! I just want to say thank you to Moorea Seal, you’ve really helped me develop my style. I’ve always wanted to show my personality through jewelry and I finally feel like it’s coming together, especially with my ever growing collection of rings. The stardust quartz ring above is my first “cocktail” style ring. It’s a really cool piece and I love the weight, the raw texture, the flecks of gold in the quartz. More please.
Look familiar? I brought back the super moon ring and stacking rings from last month’s post. I’ve been wearing them pretty much non-stop since I got them but the stardust quartz ring adds some attitude. What are your thoughts on cocktail rings? I really like a ring that packs a punch but I’m a bigger fan of the natural style that comes with this quartz style ring. Moorea Seal has another quartz ring that’s white and is really pretty and almost…mermaidy? The one I have feels like a sorceresses ring. Like maybe I’ll curse your whole family to be stuck in a small town in Maine where there’s only one restaurant (the horror!). Or maybe I’ve been watching too much Once Upon a Time. Feel free to weigh in.
I didn’t know I would love these flats as much as I do. I know they’ve been blowing up all over the place, and every time I see them I’ve been like OOOH details but I didn’t think my large feet would look good in them or that they’d even be comfortable.
I was wrong! And thank god I was wrong because I love ’em. They make this low key NYE outfit way more interesting and as someone who literally owned one pair of flats until this year they were needed. I’ve come to realize that you should have a few frivolous flats that can be worn strictly on short date nights or to friends houses where you won’t be expected to walk or stand until your feet look like weird swollen sausages, so that’s what I’m gonna get. You can’t argue with springing for insanely affordable and adorable flats.
