Sequins!! I’m so grateful that the SS/2016 runway featured a ton of sequins because it’s the middle of winter and we are in need of some serious sparkle. Thankfully Jamie was on board with me focusing on sequins for the whole month of February. Plus, it’s my birthday month, so why shouldn’t we sparkle day and night? I’ve always been a big fan of sequins beyond NYE, and thanks to Pinterest and street style sequins are spreading to the rest of the year too.

Sequins equal instant party but we’re going to experiment this month with ways for you to wear your sequin pieces in everyday life. Sequins really can be an everyday thing, not just a novelty accent you break out with the champagne for New Year’s Eve. We’re talking accessible sequins looks, with all the glitz but none of the pretentiousness/pomp, though if you wanna pop a bottle while your wear your sequins go right ahead.

I’m starting the month with a roundup because there are a ton of sequined options out there, and when I get into the outfits we might miss out on some of these pretties. Get ’em while they’re hot! Or on sale, as many are. Also, as you’re doing your sequin-soul-searching keep in mind that there are a ton of vintage stores sparkling with old school sequined pieces waiting to be discovered. So if you’re having a hard time finding a particular type of sequined piece online, check out some local vintage shops or Goodwill for potential sparkly gems.
