Sequins are expected for NYE or holiday outfits, but what about wearing sequins during a regular ‘ole day? You’d be surprised how easy it is to wear daytime sequins. The key is confidence. I say this because you’re really just taking the sequined version of something you’d already regularly wear. A skirt, top, jacket, sweats all have sequined options that can work for daytime. They’re just a lot shinier than usual.
Even a sequined dress can work for daytime if you dress it way down because keeping it casual is the best way to pull off daytime sequins. Let’s say you usually wear skinny jeans and riding boots (my go-to outfit) but instead of wearing a cute sweater you wear a sequined sweatshirt. Or sequined blazer with a casual t-shirt underneath. Or go for sequined shorts instead of your usual denim. Don’t be afraid to let yourself shine, even with a casual daytime look.. Work them sequins!
This look is all about pairing sequins with sneakers. Yep, bring on the super sparkly and then pair it with the super casual. We’re even bringing in a t-shirt here. If you need a top layer I’d pair it with a leather jacket, or a hoodie, or even a leather jacket and a hoodie for a more funky casual vibe. In warmer months you won’t need the extra layer, so just a t-shirt will do. Instead of structured purse or bag, go with a clutch if you want a slightly dressier vibe, think going to the movies, otherwise a cheeky tote and a bunch of boho inspired jewelry are the accessories you need. P.S. if you’re looking for another way to wear your sequined skirt and t-shirt combo, try a hat!
Bring on the light denim! Lighter rinse jeans were born ready for daytime spring outfits, pair this one with a simple white tee and a kinda crazy but very cute sequined jacket and you’ll be ready to hit up a late brunch in style. A classic crossbody clutch and round sunglasses are simple and complementary, but with flowy jackets like this one, you want as much wrist and hand hardware as possible. While flats could certainly go with this outfit, we want more oomph so I chose a pair of eye-catching peep toe booties with a lucite heel for a little funkiness.
