Spring is in full swing and most of us have been slowly migrating towards the summery section of our closets. But I think it’s safe to say that we’re all in need of a little wardrobe update, whether that’s restyling favorite outfits from last year or adding new warm-weather appropriate pieces to spice things up. I for one am realizing just how little spring/summer clothing I own and am trying to fill out my closet with more spring basics. Think simple casual dresses, shorts, skirts, lighter jackets.
As you saw in my recent outfit post, I’ve been really digging this Topshop olive green bomber and I’ve been wearing it with basically everything. Light jeans, dark jeans, dresses. Now I just need some shorts. It’s a really good basic for this time of year that I will be keeping around all the way through fall. We’re not quite to the point where we can justify exposing both arms and legs so I suggest picking one or the other, like with an off the shoulder top and jeans, or sweatshirt and mini skirt.
What To Wear Next Weekend | Harper and Harley – Sexy off the shoulder tops and dresses are so perfect for spring/summer. Definitely click-through check out this outfit and see how she’s paired it with converse, it’s a great look.
I Do Hilfiger | Sarah Nait – A classic striped button down is perfect for spring, especially when paired with a tight black midi skirt and slingback pumps. It’s so chic! And so easy to put together. Go for relaxed waves with this outfit, nothing too buttoned up or businessy.
Milan Fashion Week street style Photo by Kuba Dabrowski | WWD – It’s not quite warm enough for a skirt and tank top yet. But for now you can pair your mini with a really cool sweatshirt. Texture mixing is always welcome so bring on the embellishments and embroidery.

NYC Style: Fashion Week from the Street – Ece Sukan – This is how I want to embrace 1970’s style, with a suede a-line miniskirt and printed bow blouse. I love the color combination here as well. Nice use of color for spring.
Isla Bonita: Styles for the Beachy Bohemian | The Wall Street Journal – I had to put a bomber jacket in here! I’m loving my Topshop one but I envy those with awesome embroidery. Pair your bomber with light wash jeans for cool girl vibes.
