By now it seems that I have and could have created every single makeup look known to man. What is left to recreate? Some months are similar and the products used change slightly. That’s why I was hesitant about this month’s look because it seems to have been done before but I realized it has a slight twist. Shimmer glitter eyes are a fun way to experiment with color and have been showcased for Holiday looks. But why not turn it into a spring makeup look that can be worn everyday? A bubblegum pink lip and soft pink cheeks turn the otherwise Holiday eye into a spring sensation.
This look is a fusion of that J-Lo glow and the all american prepster. Maybe that’s why it was so perfect for the Kate Spade Spring 2016 Presentation. A subtle hint of silver shimmer on the lashline and perfectly soft complexions make this drool worthy. Let the clothes speak for themselves when your makeup isn’t over done. And what’s better is that it’s super easy to recreate.
We always start with foundation first. Depending on how your skin is cooperating you might be transitioning more to a BB Cream for the months to come or still opting for a medium-full coverage. Whatever your preference, apply your foundation, bronzer, and a soft pink blush. The lips and eyes are on stage for this look so we are keeping everything else very subtle. A color such as NARS Amour Blush would be perfect.
For the eyes you can go one of two ways. You can keep it super light with a light brush of MAC’s Silver Fog Pigment. Even wet your liner brush, dip into the pigment and just line ever so lightly on the lashline. If you want to up your color payout, prep you lid with MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Point in Chrome Angel, then layer on Silver Fog for the ultimate silver shimmer. Finish off with a few coats of mascara and a bubblegum pink lip.
